Ingrid Powell, LPC-Associate
Supervised by Dr. Summer Allen, LPC S
Ingrid believes that counseling is a dynamic process that involves both healing and creation. Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Relational Cultural Therapy. Recognizing the connection between mind and body, Ingrid also incorporates mindfulness and somatic awareness, helping clients understand and regulate how to feel their feelings within their physical body.
Ingrid works with adults and children experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. She also works with high conflict divorce, reunification therapy, and co-parenting to support adults, children, and families.
Ingrid has spent large periods of her life in Scandinavia, where the family is considered the highest priority in society, and the happiness and well-being of children central to that priority. This has informed her view of the family as a holistic unit, and she seeks to bring this broader view of the family to her clients. When not in the office, her time is spent deeply rooted in nature–and she believes there’s never a wrong time of year to go swimming!
